Senior / Principal Hydrologist

360 Environmental is seeking a senior or principal hydrologist to join our thriving Water Group, based in Perth. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and technically competent individual eager to successfully deliver hydrological projects for a range of clients in the land development, infrastructure, utilities, mining and agricultural sectors. Further, you’ll mentor less experienced staff, manage projects, and liaise with clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibility areas include:

  • Make sound decisions about technical issues and problem-solve for clients to get the best possible outcome for a project
  • Act as Project Manager for projects, preparing and updating project plans, including timely and quality reporting, invoicing and record systems
  • Prepare project briefs and fee estimates
  • Promote best practice within the team and on individual projects
  • Maintain knowledge of appropriate technical standards, legislation, and practice codes in WA.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Water/Environmental Engineering/Science
  • WA C Class Driver’s Licence
  • Minimum of eight-ten years relevant professional experience
  • Consulting experience within the land development, mining, environmental or water industries
  • Experience in surface water modelling; groundwater modelling will be considered a plus
  • Sound understanding of hydraulic and hydrological principles; excellent knowledge of ARR guidelines
  • Essential data management, manipulation and programming using GIS software and analytical techniques
  • Experience in business development
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including oral and written communication. The ability to present ideas, information and advice in a way understandable by a range of audiences will.

Project Coordinator

We offer a diverse project portfolio and we have an immediate need for a suitably experienced Project Coordinator to join our ecology team.  This is an opportunity to work closely with technical professionals and the Ecology Group Leader to maintain the end to end delivery of major projects.

Principal Zoologist

  • Have a completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science, natural resource management, zoology or ecology. Post graduate qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • Highly experienced in undertaking all levels of zoological based surveys, preferably with Pilbara experience
  • Proven experience in leading complex field programs
  • Sound understanding of the State and Federal technical guidelines, regulatory frameworks and legislation for fauna
  • Highly proficient in managing, processing and interpreting large data sets
  • Highly proficient in using electronic software to capture field data
  • Excellent data management and report writing skills
  • A strong desire to learn from and share your knowledge within a team environment
  • Hold a valid Western Australia manual Class C driver’s licence.

Additional skills and experience that are highly desirable, but not essential, for this role are:

  • 4WD and recovery training
  • Senior first aid training (current)
  • ArcGIS or QGIS experience
