Experienced WHS Consultant/Licensed Asbestos Assessor

360 Environmental is searching for a number of WHS Consultants with significant industry experience in Asbestos/Hazmat management and Occupational Hygiene. These positions have been created because of a strong growth in demand for our services. Dependent on the level of experience, the roles can be adapted and will provide a mixture of office and field based work on projects located throughout Western Australia.

Senior-Principal Zoologist & Botanist

360 Environmental, one of the largest privately-owned environmental consultancies in Perth, is a vibrant environmental consulting company. With a diverse and growing range of ecological based projects to be implemented in 2020, we have immediate need for a suitably qualified Senior-Principal Zoologist and a Botanist to join our ecology team.  A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in zoological and/or botanical based studies in Western Australia is mandatory for this role.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Between 5 – 10 years’ experience in zoology, botany and/or ecology in Western Australia;
  • Hold a valid Western Australia manual Class C drivers licence;
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science, natural resource management, zoology, botany or ecology. Post-graduate studies is desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading ecological field surveys, monitoring and/or investigations;
  • Understanding of the State and Federal technical guidelines, regulatory frameworks and legislation for flora and vegetation and/or fauna;
  • Proficient in managing, processing and interpreting large data sets;
  • Proficient in using electronic software to capture field data;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to develop unique solutions for complex contaminated sites;
  • Proven project management, data management, and report writing skills;
  • A strong desire to learn from and share your knowledge within a team environment.

Additional skills and experience that are highly desirable, but not essential, for this role are:

  • 4WD and recovery training
  • Senior first aid training (current)
  • ArcGIS or QGIS experience
  • Statistical knowledge using Primer and/or R studio.

Remediation Supervisor – Contaminated Sites (Junior to Mid-Level)

With a diverse and growing range of contaminated sites remediation projects to be implemented in 2020, we have immediate need for several suitably qualified Environmental Consultants to join our contaminated sites team in the role of Remediation Supervisor.  A minimum of 3 years’ experience in contaminated land management in Western Australia is mandatory for this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology or earth science;
  • Demonstrated field skills related to contractor management, soil logging, asbestos identification, and acid sulfate soils;
  • Proficient in managing, processing and interpreting large contaminated sites data sets;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to develop unique solutions for complex contaminated sites;
  • Proven project management, data management, and report writing skills;
  • A strong desire to learn from and share your knowledge within a team environment.

In addition to remediation supervision, the role will include preparing contaminated land management reports such Remedial Action Plans, Site Management Plans and Site Validation Reports in accordance with the Western Australian Contaminated Sites Act (2003), the current applicable guidelines and revised 2013 NEPM ASC.  Future opportunity to undertake a broader range of contaminated sites investigations and reporting (Preliminary Site Investigations, Detailed Site Investigations) will be provided over time.

Casual Botanist/Zoologist/Ecologist

Environmental Consultants / Hydrologists

360 Environmental is seeking environmental consultants/hydrologists to join our thriving Water Assessment and Management Group, based in Perth.

We’re actively looking for enthusiastic and technically competent people who are looking to successfully deliver hydrological projects for a range of clients in the land development, infrastructure, mining, industrial and agricultural sectors. Further, they will have an opportunity to mentor less experienced staff, manage projects, and liaise with clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibility areas include:

  • Application of hydraulic and hydrological models for urban and river drainage, surface and groundwater management, flood risk assessment and water quality impacts assessment;
  • Assist in maintaining and developing the technical capability of the team through technical supervision, training and the mentoring of graduate and junior members of staff;
  • Promote best practice within the team and on individual projects;
  • Make sound decisions about technical issues and problem-solve for clients to get the best possible outcome for a project;
  • Prepare, manage and execute projects to a high level;
  • Act as Project Manager for projects, preparing and updating project plans, including timely and clear reporting, invoicing and record systems;
  • Prepare project briefs and fee estimates;
  • Maintain knowledge of appropriate technical standards, legislation, and codes of practice in WA.

Essential Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Water/Environmental Engineering/Science;
  • Registered or working towards registration with a recognised professional body, such as Engineers Australia.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience;
  • Knowledge of state guidelines and policies including Better Urban Water Management;
  • Demonstrated experience within the mining, environmental or water industry consulting;
  • Practical experience in undertaking surface water and groundwater monitoring and sampling;
  • Data management, manipulation and programming using GIS software and analytical techniques.

Skills:

  • Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling;
  • Sound understanding of hydraulic and hydrological principles;
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including oral and written communication and particularly the ability to present ideas, information and advice in a way that is understandable by a range of audiences;
  • Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
