Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Coordinator

The primary responsibility of this position is the continual improvement and implementation of a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management system. This includes the coordination and delivery of 360 Environmental’s HSEQ Management System through the provision of HSEQ guidance and support to Leadership group and project managers in HSE management of day to day operations; both in the Perth office and in the field.

The HSEQ Coordinator is responsible for promoting workplace health and safety, maintaining and developing HSE plans, processes and systems to a level that sits within the framework of AS/NZS 4801. A primary objective of this position is to meet operational health, safety, environment and quality performance objectives; whilst conforming and complying with company and legislative policies and directives. The role includes:

  • Review of health and safety procedures, policies and processes
  • Subcontractor approvals
  • Client Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Pre-qualifications
  • Leading quarterly HSE committee meetings and actions
  • Other health and safety projects and tasks as required.

The role is primarily office based, but may include site visits for auditing or incident investigation purposes.

Essential Criteria:

  • Diploma of Occupational Health & Safety / or Certificate IV with extensive experience
  • Sound Knowledge of OHS legislation, discipline and practice
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and Office 365
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
  • Experience in a similar type of organization would be considered favourably.

  • A relevant degree in science or engineering;
  • 3-5 years of local experience in WA;
  • Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise with clients and regulators;
  • Excellent project management and report writing skills; and
  • Applicants should have sound knowledge of the following:
    • Part IV of the Environmental Protection Act 1986;
    • Part V (works approval, licensing/ registration and clearing permits) of the EP Act;
    • The Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999; and
    • The Mining Act 1978.

Principal Zoologist

  • Have a completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science, natural resource management, zoology or ecology. Post graduate qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • Highly experienced in undertaking all levels of zoological based surveys, preferably with Pilbara experience
  • Proven experience in leading complex field programs
  • Sound understanding of the State and Federal technical guidelines, regulatory frameworks and legislation for fauna
  • Highly proficient in managing, processing and interpreting large data sets
  • Highly proficient in using electronic software to capture field data
  • Excellent data management and report writing skills
  • A strong desire to learn from and share your knowledge within a team environment
  • Hold a valid Western Australia manual Class C driver’s licence.

Additional skills and experience that are highly desirable, but not essential, for this role are:

  • 4WD and recovery training
  • Senior first aid training (current)
  • ArcGIS or QGIS experience
  • Statistical knowledge using Primer and/or R studio.
